He describes his artistic approach in his own words:
My first image of surrealism was revealed to me at an early age in the vision of a bowling ball lying alone in the desert. Since then I have sought to create a personal universe through the mediums of Super 8 photoplays and enamel/oil paintings by combining a number of childhood influences:
Memories of the fairy-tale like qualities in golden age horror films, the classic surrealist juxtaposition of unrelated objects, and the exoticism of psychedelia.
This ongoing exploration takes a pathway into the night world of my pre-adolescence and a fascination with the mystery of the dark.
Surrealistic groupings of images born of a subconscious intuition tingle with a quiet, late night excitement as they peel back the bed sheets and beckon the sleeper.
As a new land begins to take shape, tippy-toed pajama clad feet stand before the midnight window of dreams, and teeter on the very edge of safety and security…
It is here, under a bush between the two vast fields of fear and delight that we find what I call: “PINK BUBBLES ON BLACK VELVET.”
